Lockdown hit CACFO UK’s elders and vulnerable Croydon residents, such as those with Sickle Cell Anaemia, hard. Many were confined to home.
CACFO UK teamed up with The Giving Hub CIC to deliver hot meals to elders and vulnerable residents throughout lockdown and is continuing this service to meet targeted demand particularly as the adverse effects of furlough ending become felt.
We provide elders and identified vulnerable individuals with one hot nutritious meal each week and a bag of groceries to help out during the rest of the week.

To deliver this service, CACFO UK has teamed up with The Giving Hub a Community Interest Company working with Government sponsored food provider, Fareshare, to provide culturally sensitive meals across South London to meet demand from vulnerable groups.
Partnership with CACFO UK has enabled the project to reach elders in Thornton Heath and elsewhere in Croydon, aided and assisted by other Croydon’s illustrious Windrush Charities. Meals have ranged from Jerk Chicken, Stew Peas, Curry Goat and Ackee and Salt Fish, to Pasta Bake and Chef’s (Percy) speciality veggie balls. Grocery bags have included easily prepared meals enough for up to five further days.
If you are an Elder or know an Elder in need of assistance with meals please contact CACFO UK via our website.
Thank, as ever, go to all involved including our wonderful team of volunteers.
